The Theatre

"Six Degrees of Separation is the strongest show I've seen at the Boiler Room. I truly enjoyed the evening. This is, without a doubt, a theater that is developing. If this show is an indication of what's to come, I look forward to the future."

Six Degrees of Separation
A Play by John Guare

June 21 - July 20, 2002

No subject is left untouched in this comic, fast-paced and affecting piece that captured the 1993 New York Drama Critic's Outer Circle Award. The title refers to a statistical theory that any two people in the world can be connected through only six other people. The play follows a young African-American con artist who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple by telling them he is the son of actor Sidney Poitier.
