Junior Performance Camps

Ages 7-11

This year's Junior Camps will celebrate the works of Stephen Schwartz during which participants will learn and perform music and songs from the composer’s hit shows including Wicked, Children of Eden, Pippin, Godspell, and Rags to name just a few.
Three different weeks to choose from. Day camp focuses on stage performance with equal emphasis on acting, singing and dancing. Each week culminates in a professional showcase at the Boiler Room Theatre. $210 per child. Registration includes a t-shirt that will be worn in the final showcase. Sibling discount of $10 off each additional child.

Senior Performance Camps

Ages 12-17

June 27 – July 1, 2011

This year's Senior Performance Workshop will explore and celebrate the vast variety, depth and complexity of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Participants will learn and perform some of the more challenging music and songs from Sondheim’s shows including Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Sunday In The Park With George, Company, and Merrily We Roll Along, to name just a few.

This week-long workshop focuses on more advanced music, dance and dramatic techniques, all in a fun and professional theatrical environment. The week culminates in a staged performance of a scripted show at BRT. $210 per student. Registration includes a t-shirt that will be worn in the final showcase. Sibling discount of $10 off each additional child available.

What to Wear:
Kids should come dressed in loose, comfortable clothes and tennis shoes (bring dance shoes if available).

Payment must be received at time of registration. Maximum enrollment is 40 for Junior Camps and Senior Workshops. There is no maximum for the Musical Theatre Intensive. No refunds or make-ups. Credit/debit cards may be used for registration.

Musical Theatre Intensive:
Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

June 7 - July 31, 2011

This is the opportunity for kids and teens to rehearse and perform their own full-scale musical production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at the Boiler Room Theatre (July 29-31). All participants will be cast in the show; many principal and ensemble roles are available, with many opportunities for boys. $300 per child. No sibling discount available, however a discount of $15 will be applied if registering for another camp. T-shirts available for additional fee.

Instructors
Sondra Morton, Program Director
With more than 21 years of professional theatre experience and more than 75 shows ranging from NYC to California, her passion is teaching children the art of musical theatre. She is a graduate of THE AMERICAN MUSICAL AND DRAMATIC ACADEMY- NYC and received her BFA from the NEW SCHOOL- NYC. She is the Theatre Arts Director of the ACT TOO PLAYERS SCHOOL OF MUSIC AND THEATRE and has directed more than 40 children's productions at BRT including previous summer shows Willy Wonka, The Music Man, The Wiz, Oliver!, A Little Princess, The Seussical, Alice in Wonderland and more. She has directed BRT's Mainstage productions of My Fair Lady, Damn Yankees and The Will Rogers Follies.

Lauri Gregoire, Choreographer
A full-time dance teacher and proprietor of the BELLEVUE DANCE CENTER, Lauri serves as BRT's Resident Choreographer and has choreographed BRT's Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Anything Goes, How to Succeed in Business, That '60s Christmas Show, Nunsense, Lucky Stiff, Man of La Mancha, Chicago, and The 1940s Radio Hour, and has served as Dance Captain for McBeth! The Musical. Lauri made her BRT stage debut as Kristine in A Chorus Line. She received her Bachelors in Dance Performance from OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY. While at OCU Lauri danced for the AMERICAN SPIRIT DANCE CO. and the OCU Opera and Musical Theatre Co.
